Roadmap

Excalibur is built in the open. This is the honest state of the project — what you get today, what's actively being worked on, and what comes next. No committed dates: things ship when they're verified.

Shipped — in the npm release today

• The whole product cycle, local-first: discover → plan → build → test → document → review → ship → audit, on any model (Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible, Ollama and 20+ providers), no account.
• The backlog writes itself: every build materializes a durable plan, board cards and a rolling sprint with a live burndown.
• Verified parallel swarms: independent workstreams run in isolated git worktrees; the merged result must pass your real tests and an adversarial review before it lands.
• Time travel: every run is an immutable event log — rewind, replay and fork from any step.
• The discovery gate: speculative ideas get scored build / validate / don't-build before any code.
• Live dashboard (excalibur serve): kanban with live agent checklists, orchestration chronogram with a time-travel scrubber, sprints and cost insights — localhost, token-gated.
• Compounding memory: decisions are captured per build and prime future work on the same files.
• An uncrashable, multilingual shell: gated approvals, self-healing builds, bracketed paste, markdown-rendered narration — in English, Spanish and French.

Polishing now

• The best terminal UI in the category — an ongoing craft pass: motion quality, information hierarchy, one consistent visual language across chat, build, swarm and replay.
• Dashboard as mission control — code review at the approval gate, browser notifications with deep focus, board filters and burndown forecasting.

Next

• GitHub App: @excalibur review and issue-driven runs from your repository, plus two-way issue sync on the board (Linear and Jira after).
• Launch: a public "Excalibur building Excalibur" board, and the demo that shows a plan surviving a dead terminal.
• Enterprise control plane: team visibility, policies, budgets and audit across an organization — the local dashboard is its shipped foundation. Team communication surfaces (Slack/Teams) land here.
